Digital Pedagogy and Instructional Design, Content Development and Online Acquisition
This intervention area focuses on building the capacity of instructors in digital pedagogy and instructional design, content development, and online acquisition. In digital pedagogy, lecturers/instructors are trained in the use of technology in teaching/learning, how technology is used to make the virtual class learner-centered and engaging. Instructional design is aimed at equipping lecturers with skills in the designing and creation of content for eLearning.
Set up eLearning Hubs
The 2nd component of this intervention is learning hubs. These facilities are put in place to support the creation of content for eLearning. They have educational content recording studios, for example videos and audios. The hubs also host a support center for both lecturers/instructors and students in areas of digital course content creation and use of the Learning Management System. There are three eLearning hubs: Nkumba University, Busitema University, and Mbarara University to serve the central, eastern & western regions respectively.
