Understanding the operation and use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) is key to users taking full advantage of the platforms. This intervention area seeks to train EIs in the effective use of LMS as well as increase the adoption of eLearning in Higher Education Institutions (HEI) through the provision of LMS to institutions that do not have, and improvement to those that have respectively.
To ensure sustainability, the team co-creates with the HEIs. Working with institution teams, we identify key challenges and propose workable solutions that we then implement. For example the provision of Big Blue Button, Live Class servers, and upgrade of LMS for institutions like Busitema and Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
How we are enabling HEIs to take full advantage of online learning:
- Training of LMS administrators, lecturers, and students in the use of the LMS;
- Assist lecturers to set up courses, tests, assignments & grading etc.;
- Train students on how to browse content, submit assignments, participate in chat forums, attend live classes etc.;
- Train admins on how to set up users and their environments;
- Provide technical support for the LMS;
- Resolve support issues from all users;
- Use analytics to inform decisions.
